TEKNOLIN Oil paint
Alkyd-oil paint for wooden surfaces outdoors. The paint does not run and is very easy to apply. Contains wood protecting agents.
Wooden surfaces, such as exterior walls, facings, verges, corner and weather boards, wooden fences and window frames.
Not suitable on surfaces painted with dispersion paint.

Surface preparation and priming | NEW WOODEN SURFACE: Treat the surface as soon as possible. At least the impregnation and priming would be best done in the summer of construction. Remove from the surface all loose matter, dirt, dust and mildew. If needed, use RENSA Mildew Remover. Apply one coat of clear WOODEX BASE priming oil. Allow to dry for one day. Prime wooden surfaces with PUUPOHJA alkyd primer. Allow to dry for 1 - 3 days depending on the weather. Wash the metal parts with TEKNOSOLV 1621 and prime with FERREX. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED OR OLD WOODEN SURFACE: Change the deteriorated wooden parts to new ones. Remove loose matter, dirt and dust. Remove the deteriorated paint coats entirely. Note, that the adherence of an old thick paint layer to the substrate may have been weakened, therefore the paint should be removed although the paint film looks intact. The old paint layer is removed primarily by scraping or wire brushing and possibly by heating the surface with infra-red heater designed for that purpose. Secondarily paint remover or blasting can be used. Wash painted surfaces with RENSA Paint Washing Liquid, mildewed surfaces with RENSA Mildew Remover and rinse the surfaces thoroughly. Old, untreated wooden surfaces can before the priming be treated with clear WOODEX BASE priming oil, see ´NEW WOODEN SURFACE´. Prime bare wooden surfaces with PUUPOHJA alkyd primer. Allow to dry for 1 - 3 days depending on the weather. Wire-brush the rusty metal parts. Wash all metal parts with TEKNOSOLV 1621 and prime with FERREX. |
Top coating | Reserve a sufficient amount of paint in the same vessel for each uniform surface. Colour differences will thus be avoided. Stir the paint well and apply by paint brush or spray once or twice. |
Application conditions | The surface to be painted must be dry. The moisture of the wood must be below 20 % of the dry weight of the wood. During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the paint shall be above +5 °C and the relative air humidity below 80 %. Avoid application in direct sunlight. |
